Web Developer

Responsibilities:

  • During my day-to-day operations my responsibilities include building and maintaining the CDC web-site's under E-Health Communications. This development was primarily done with strong emphasis on CSS, HTML JavaScript, ASP, Omniture tracking. We were in the process of Complete CDC re-branding of all active site's under the direction of the CDC. These websites were being built and tested to meet new web standards that we were developing. Some of the new technologies required development in JavaScript Frameworks or libraries and modules like building RSS feeds and Pod-casts. As part of my day to day operations
  • I was responsible for stress testing newly developed templates for the re-design and report problems that would arise in site-wide roll out. It was my job to help perfect these new templates and standards and debug them. I was involved with the planning and designing the redesign of the CDC’ s websites on a technical level. I received extensive in web user and usability standards/ testing from top usability experts. I was also involved with support on innovative new web templates for CDC. I created and coded from JavaScript libraries new custom modules, I was responsible for debugging and helping with design challenges.
  • Sometimes these custom templates didn't allow for the perimeters or function of these custom modules and it was my job to try and recode the template to make it fit. This was done by editing some of the CSS and HTML while maintaining the core structure. I also coordinate logistical planning and ordering of file structure of our web directories. This function requires continuous link checking/validation for over 20,000 pages and files. Then there is planning for future sites. That also falls into my duties.
