Senior Visual Designer / UI Designer

Responsibilities:
- As a part of the UI team, in the role of UI/Visual Designer, made recommendations and discussed strategy, created wireframes and prototypes, guided relevant aspects of frontend development, and proposed enhancements to improve usability, visual integrity and corporate branding.
- Visual Design: The Visual redesign needed to adapt equally well to mobile and desktop. Acted as the Visual Design lead assuring compliance with Confidential 's new Graphic Design Standards and Iconography.
- User Interface Designer: Designed a responsive UI for "Simple Configurator", Confidential 's software and hardware configuration tool.
- Two challenges were to design a new UI using Graceful Degradation, and to modify user interface elements to work well on all platforms. Keeping the Visual layout displaying with unbroken integrity across targeted devices - the nine-inch Elitepad, laptop and desktop - was also important.

- Created the visual look-and-feel of many projects based on low-fidelity wireframes or descriptions while at Cisco. Provided mockups, color studies, suggested typography, and layout solutions. - Designed a template layout system for use with WebEx Social community web pages, portlets and posts. Designed the feature banner templates used in conjunction with Cisco stock photos, a heading and caption for WebEx Social.
- UI Design: Created several user interface features that utilize CSS3 animations and transitions. This was a successful means of achieving rich interactivity, since most javascript was blacklisted by Cisco's internal security regulations.
- Icon Design and Illustration: Designed and illustrated several photorealistic, full color icons not previously existing in the Cisco icon library.
- Designed illustrative logos for CCIT and Parfait Search. Designed and illustrated full color, photorealistic icons for CCIT. Designed three systems of pictograms for use in three different settings: a marquee adjacent to the WebEx Social Topics pages, the CCIT User Interface Guidelines, and the specialized search system: Parfait.

- Visual Design: Created the look-and-feel for Confidential 's largest web-based, intranet application, Account Manager. Confidential 's established Style Guidelines were loosely followed for graphics, typography and handling of interactive elements. For this project, there needed to be a clear visual difference between this internally facing app and Confidential 's externally facing web presence. The approved design struck a balance between the official style recommendations and the need for distinction.
- UI Design: A large portion of new UI features and enhancements were proposed, designed and presented by myself. Discussion of new UI features and enhancements took place in team meetings. Whiteboard wireframing was the typical means of communicating and establishing direction for further development.
