SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Responsibilities:- Completed a project for the navy whereby I created an MVC/C# program that would allow the user to select zip files, which each contained a CSV file and a number of PDFs.
- The CSV file contained a row of metadata for each PDF; and, the PDFs were uploaded to Content Server via Web Services.
- The destination in Content Server was a tree structure, referred to as the CIS model; and, the ultimate folder location, in that tree structure, was determined by three pieces of the metadata.
- The tree structure was tied to a Content Server category with attributes for certain pieces of metadata; and, the category was updated with each PDF that was uploaded.
- All of the metadata were inserted into a table, called the facet table; one row for each PDF.
- One row was also written to another table for each upload session; and, it was referred to as the transmittal table.
- The program performed queries against certain Content Server tables - Dtree and LLattrdata - using the three pieces of metadata, as parameters, to determine the ultimate destination for each PDF.
- The program would catch strategic error messages; and, in the event of an error, it would send an appropriate message to the user, via the MVC view; it would also email the client's help desk with the error, and it would write a record to an error table with key pieces of associated metadata.
