Provided FDMS with a scalable and flexible architecture to accommodate all data elements required for the reports. FDMS’s active OLTP system IDS-DSS served as source for the ETL process. ETL process moved data into intermediate staging area and in next stage of ETL, processed data were moved to IDS-DSS system. IDS-DSS system served as a base for generating reports. Cognos data mart served as another source for the IDS-DSS System. Informatica 6.1 was the tool used for ETL processing. Finally the canned reports were generated using Business Objects 5.1. Users were provided with an ad-hoc querying facility in Business Objects.
