Duration : April 2008 to till date
Tools & Technology : Unix (Sun Solaris), Oracle 9i & 10G, Informatica 8.1 & 8.6
Role : Onsite coordinator (Team Lead), SL3 support

Description
dbFeeds provides enterprise-wide services that help data integration groups within Confidential reduce or better leverage their development /production support resources. This is achieved by sharing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) capabilities on the Informatica platform managed and maintained by dbFeeds. Through a shared cost model, feed development resources, production support and infrastructure maintenance are centralized on one platform and opportunities for reuse and knowledge sharing are maximized.
Clients primarily use the service to develop data feeds between two or more systems where there are mapping requirements between the fields from the source system, to the target system\'s fields downstream. For example, any system that interfaces with SAP does not send their data directly to the SAP application. Instead, the source system sends their data to dbFeeds which transforms it into the required SAP format before sending to downstream to SAP. This way, the consistency of feed data sent to SAP is maintained and any incorrectly formatted data rejected at the ETL layer before causing issues in SAP.
Current data volumes exceed 20 billion inbound records per month with 70% of that volume coming from Finance and Credit Risk.
