  • BMS Data Migration(ETL Project)
  • The purpose of the project is to migrate three terabytes of data associated with the Access Bearer Network Records that currently reside within IDMS database to the new Oracle Based Bearer Management System in a manner that will cause the least possible disruption to the business.
  • Extract: Darstran tool is used for extracts from the IDMS database.
  • Transform: The transform process transforms the data into format that adheres to the new database design.
  • Load: The transformed information is then loaded to into the Staging database. The Load process uses Abinitio and Oracle SQL loader to load data into the Staging database.

  • CSS is the largest computing system of BT. It caters for Service Provision, Customer Billing and Network Management functionality for Telephony (PSTN) and the related services provided by BT. CSS system as a whole comprises of about 50 subsystems. There are numerous interfaces and data links between different subsystems. Hence none of the subsystems is a standalone subsystem. In CSS various sub-systems were involved like Routing (RT), Local Network Record (LNR), Exchange Record (ER) and Exchange Transfer (ET).
