• Synopsis : BigData is the newest buzz word in IT industry. It's the platform for large scale computing, for unstructured/structured data. It's a focus area for IBM, ISL is playing an important role. BigData is still a platform, applications and solutions are needed that are useful industry. One of the biggest use case for BigData platform is to use it as data hub. Let Hive or Hbase be the data store layer but allow SQL access to make it useful for existing ETL/ELT and analytics applications. Currently working on IBM BigSQL offering.
• Working on a project to move several My SQL databases to Hbase for consolidating all these database into one single repository. We are using Big SQL v3.0 as SQL interface for Hbase. Rearchitecture of all these MySQL to one Hbase repository was a major challenge, lots of difficulties but ultimately able to rearchitect the RDBMS schema to fit in Hbase model and load data from My SQL to Hbase.
• Worked as architect to offload teradata ELT processing to Hive/Hbase. Migrated Bte to Shell/Big SQL/Hive and Hbase. Defined the schema in Hive and Hbase. Also converted SQL's to suite BigData platform.
