Worked with the vendor to make any deadlines and to insure their inventory files were current. Updated CA7 schedules for holidays and special requests. This system had a small number of batch programs that used IMS DB/DC and Jobs that FTP Data to and from the vendor.
  • Fixed several different types of batch production abends including SQL errors and IMS-batch checkpoint restart program errors using Xpeditor.

  • Extensive use of the applications development tools menu and various options including Abend-Aid, Changeman, Xpediter, and other sub processes.
  • Coordinated the application groups conversion from DB2 V7 to DB2 V8 program. Determined witch DB2 programs identified needed to be modified for the conversion. Performed the actual coding and testing. With the use of Changeman, made sure all the subroutines and calling programs were in sync before moving to production.
  • Participated in twice a year Disaster Recovery Testing for the Suite of Applications supported. This included verification of each systems availability and functionality on the mirrored site and providing documentation necessary for the SOX and non SOX Systems.
  • Coded, tested and implemented changes to expand the referral pattern for parts depots. This involved changes in MFS screens, IMS tables and fields on DB2 tables
  • Performed Monthly refreshes of the test IMS and DB2 Databases with production data.
  • Participated in the Daily Parts Advantage project. Expanded tables in stock status program to hold 20 new Depots. Changed the Part Info Screen to also accommodate these new Depots. These changes included DB2, IMS and MFS screens.
  • Coded and Tested changes for the Commercial Truck Center. Required a new flag on the Part IMS Database. Coded the edit checking for this flag in several Programs in the Part Order Processing system and the Dealer Order Entry System. Changed programs included IMS, DB2 and MFS screens.
  • Researched and provided information for The Business Technology Renewal group. All interfaces for the Part Order Processing System were provided in detail to BTR group to facilitate the use of SAP.
  • Coded and Tested changes made for SAP. New Jobs and Programs written to accommodate layout of files necessary for data to be used in SAP. New VSAM files were created. These Changes were IMS and DB2 related
  • Assisted in the creation of DOW. Dealer order entry ON Web. Changes were to allow mainframe to recognize orders that originated from the website. Assisted in design of file layouts for the files coming from the web.
  • Represented Application Suite in Daily Support meeting. Responsibilities were to report any Abends and the status of those to management. Report back to team and disseminate any news pertaining to the network, such as planned outages for hardware and software upgrades. Coordinate any actions needed due to these upgrades and Outages.
