SR Database Administrator/Solution Architect 12/2011 - Present
Performed critical roles in design, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of client applications.
- Physical and logical designing of database with the distribution of data-files on different disks.
- Architectural evaluated between the Sun Solaris and Linux servers to replace the existing servers which are running slow and is not able to handle the current volume of data and applications.
- Designed and implemented Disaster Recovery strategies on NAS storage, and used Dataguard to create the Physical Standby databases.
- Installed Oracle 11g database in Unix environment and migrated the data from Oracle 9i to 11g. Created Installation scripts to create schema objects (Users, Tablespaces, Tables, Constraints, Synonym, sequences, roles and privileges, Triggers) .
- Implemented NetApp, for backup and restoring the database.
Environment: UNIX (Sun Solaris), Linux, Oracle 11g/10g/9i, ER*Win, RAC, Developer 10g (Oracle Forms, Reports), Oracle 10g Application Server (IAS), PL/SQL, SQL, Shell Scripting (Ksh), Perl, OEM, NetApp, AWR reports and performance tuning.

Caller usage metering application:
Wireless Communications has a usage metering application that keeps track of duration of each cellular call and services used. For example, if a caller makes a regular call, a base rate applied for the duration of the call, if a caller uses special features like roaming, extra charges applied.
The usage metering application efficiently monitors concurrent calls, gather usage data on each call, and write those details into a binary flat file. The files generated are sorted and converted into ascii format and loaded the data in a central database for use by other applications that generate bills, reports, audits, and so on. I have worked on the part of loading the data into central database.
