Lead Oracle Developer

• Responsible for SDLC, ETL, data load extracts into the database using external tables and Pipelined functions. Used Collections mechanisms for data loading and processing extensively. Process re-engineering improvement. Providing mandatory reports to federal state regulatory agencies. Interfacing with Java frontend. Unix shell scripting.
• The primary applications under my responsibility are
• Managing transformation and loading, processing, automating, monitoring, reporting and extraction of over 36 million claims and encounters in 15 different formats related to Medical Medicaid , Medicare, Covered California's Health Benefit Exchange, Duals, Healthy Families, Healthy Kids lines of business received for almost 1.5 million members annually
• Enterprise Data Warehouse Membership
• Building interfaces for encounters, claims and membership with the new core system QNXT on SQL Server that will eventually replace the legacy core system MHC on PICK/Universe database and merging data from both core systems in Oracle system
• Supporting audit processes for HEDIS, NCQA accreditation
• Backend support for IVR Interactive Voice Response for member eligibility verification
• Process optimization and performance improvement. e.g. the process for Mercer Capitated Rate Development and Mercer reporting used to take 15-17 days of processing every year. I brought it down to less than 11 hours when I took over the responsibility for this project in 2013.
• Performance tuning and monitoring of applications, Unix shell scripting, re-engineering of existing systems and processes, transformation and loading of 3rd party data loading and reporting.

Senior Database Developer

The primary applications are RMS repertoire Management System and IFE Internal Feeds and extracts to support internal users and worldwide partners. The RMS application is a Java based application deployed on Websphere RAD platform J2EE with Oracle 10g database as the backend. IFE provides data feeds and extracts to all company partners in ASCII and XML formats. Both applications extensively use Oracle, PL/SQL, Java and XML My responsibilities include for ETL, data load extracts into the database using external tables and SQL Loader, analysis, redesign and redevelopment of Oracle programs and performance tuning and supporting applications of the existing RMS and IFE apps, production support, maintenance and enhancements of existing system, data conversion from RMS to R2. These involve writing SQL and PL/SQL code, Java classes/methods to utilize Oracle objects and procedures, Java unit test classes and XSDs and processing XML data

Senior Database Developer

Responsible for analysis, design, development, support and performance tuning of digital music distribution DMD applications. Responsibilities include scheduling and packaging of digital assets for digital service providers based on schedules, new releases and territory operations of service providers. I worked extensively with Unix and Perl scripting for reporting purposes and Oracle PL/SQL for batch processing. I also worked on the takedown application. The takedown application helps DMD to efficiently manage the process of bringing down the digital products from customer shelves and then repackage / reship the albums.

Project Details

• Installation of Oracle RDBMS on the server and Oracle software on the client, database design, monitoring database performance, application tuning, scheduling and taking automated backups, administering databases including tablespace and rollback segment management, managing user security, database recovery.
• Design and development of a security system, common to the 12 modules that were part of this system. I also developed the Oracle side interface for these modules with applications running on IBM mainframe.
