• Served as the primary Senior Oracle DBA for the majority of the companies database's which included the Data Warehouse, Online Reservation, Finance and Payroll.
• Ensured that all of the companies database where SOX Compliant . This included writing policies and procedures, developed monitoring scripts and routine meetings with management to ensure that these procedures were meeting SOX compliance
• Upgraded the companies Oracle Application Suite, financials from 11.5.3 to 11.5.8.
• Primary Oracle DBA for the conversation of Holland Americas Data Warehouse database from a single company Data Warehouse to a combined company Data Warehouse with a sister company in California.
• Developed and tested storage strategies and disaster-recovery plan for large manufacturing company's operational database, delivering solution that guaranteed recovery performance and high availability using Oracle RMAN.

Designed and developed their Materials Acquisition System. The MAS application allowed the company to quickly collect material requirements for jobs that where being worked on, create RFQ's and select a vendor to purchase from. The MAS application was development mainly with Microsoft Access along with the palm pilot, Apache, MySQL and PHP.

• Primary analyst, designer and developer for this application using a combination of MySQL, Erwin Data Modeling Tool, Apache Web Server and Microsoft Access.
• This application greatly enhanced the companies time required to purchase the parts need but also help in finding the best value for this parts. Turnaround time went from a couple of days to a couple of hours to send quotes and received feedback.

Manager for all UNIX and NT Systems, Oracle and Microsoft database administrators. Major activities included the planning, budgeting and project plans for the databases running at US Marine. Other activities include evaluating and selecting Oracle database tools responsible for database capacity planning and provided system administration backup duties on AIX and HP boxes.

Key projects:

• Managed and trained US Marines Database Administrators on both Oracle and Microsoft databases.
• Redesigned a thorough backup and recovery strategy for all major production systems. This initiative involved the design and development of several UNIX shell scripts used for both physical and logical backups along with configuring RMAN. Also included in this effort was the development of various recovery strategies that included media failure, user failure and block corruption.

Primary Oracle Database Administrator for a startup company configuring the Oracle Application Financial Suite. Responsible for coding, analyzing, and troubleshooting production information systems. Provided programming and DBA support for migrating existing legacy systems into the Oracle Financial systems.

• Successfully designed and developed a backup/recovery strategy and procedures for several Oracle 7 database instances.

• Established and wrote the Database Administrators Procedures document for the IT Department. This document outlines all standards for the DBA group including installing/upgrading Oracle, creating databases, DBA tools, administration and monitoring, naming standards, policies, practices and procedures.
• Setup the Oracle Web Server to provide reporting function over the Internet for the Quality Assurance database and helped in the development process, improving the applications SQL and database structure.
