  • Implemented a development environment for the original data warehouse. Previously, all coding and testing was done in production. Creating a development area allowed us to add new data fields and functionality without impacting users’ reports in production.
  • Worked with the ODS business sponsor to implement data standards for the ODS. ODS uses codes to look up names and descriptions for locations, carriers and containers.
  • Identified, created and implemented global master reference tables. Master reference tables include SCAC Codes, UN Location Codes, ISO Container Type & Size Codes, ISO Country Codes, ISO Subdivision Codes, U.S. Schedule D & K Codes, Lloyd’s Vessel Codes, and IATA Airport Codes.
  • Developed a global master reference website that allows users to view data in the master reference tables.
  • Developed a new load process for SCAC Codes that improved data quality and load time by 50%. The new process replaced the quarterly files with daily files, which has a column to indicate which SCAC codes are to be added, updated or deleted.
  • Made process improvements to main Informatica workflow that loaded the data warehouse reducing load runs from 4 hours down to about 10 minutes and in turn reduced file crash ratios.
  • Made process improvements to the container status workflow that reduced load time from 60 minutes to 90 seconds.

  • Developed a real - time collaborative web site that enabled engineers to collaborate over the Internet. Web site allowed engineers to conduct on-line meetings via chat, instant messaging, white board, video, and audio, and work on team projects through project folder collaboration and task workflow. Site used the Exchange 2000 Server and its Conferencing and Workflow products to deliver the site’s functionality.
  • Created the project folder functionality that enabled engineers to create folders and subfolders, store content, and retrieve content from the folders. Enabled the web site to do web conferencing while presenting content to the engineers.
