SUMMARY:
- The Senior DBA provides technical and operational DBA support for the day to day operations of the Windows and LINUX server infrastructure. This role is responsible for implementing database operation efficiencies through the use of automation and configuration of database infrastructure management tools, installing patches and hot fixes, maintaining database security compliance, maintaining an accurate database instance inventory, and managing the database servers running under
- LINUX or Windows. This role is also responsible providing expert database support on the planning and implementation of all required preventative and reactive database maintenance activities, including database upgrades, database patches and hot fixes, tuning, and security settings.
- Development and maintenance of database deployment and automation packages.
- Updates operations documentation, and documents installation instructions
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of database issues and related software to ensure application servers are built and maintained to meet business service levels
- Works with other database and systems operations teams across the enterprise to ensure efficient and effective delivery and support of LINUX and Windows based services.
- Effectively coordinates database server placements, associated database storage, and network allocation; communicates project deadlines to ensure on time project delivery as necessary; enlists assistance of appropriate personnel in other teams to resolve issues as necessary
- Performs routine capacity planning tasks for database systems and services. Proactively monitors the database environment and landscape. Generates reports showing the utilization of the database servers
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Technology and Tools: Oracle SSO, OEM / Grid Control and Oracle RAC. PL/SQL Oracle BPEL XML Publisher Oracle Reports or Forms SOA (BPEL, OWB) UNIX Shell Scripting Application Development Framework (ADF) Oracle Workflow Oracle Application Framework (OAF) Oracle Database - 10g, 11g.
