Role: Software Developer
Description:
As a part of focusing on strength area & bring value to their PCM (Payments and Cash Management) business and clients in Europe HSBC initiated this project. In Europe the goal is to focus on UK, France, Germany and Turkey, where HSBC have substantial branch networks and domestic capabilities. However, whilst HSBC have undoubted strength in all of these four countries, it is Turkey which remains the least connected to the outside world. In the UK, France and Germany, HSBC Connect and HSBC net links exist and the business now has a requirement to achieve the same connectivity for Turkey.
The growth of the Shared Services Center and Payment Factory arena has shown HSBC that there is a requirement to have a host-to-host link to Turkey for the delivery of payment instructions. Procter & Gamble, Roche and Unilever have all enquired of our abilities in Turkey recently, and an RFP from P & G is expected later in the Year.
Whilst local connectivity channels exist in Turkey, the nature of SSCs is such that whilst the transaction may originate in Turkey, corporate, global ERP links will want to connect to their banks in a different part of the world and in a common format. Hence the requirement for host-to-host channels with our clients and in a deliver these payments files bank into Turkey in the correct format.
