Project Abstract

VIKING generic framework architecture is based on a multi-model, multi-tier, multi-layered approach that leverages the patterns based architecture through services realization model at its core. This lead to well abstracted modular, scalable, flexible and extensible framework architecture with clear separation of roles and responsibilities of various components and sub-systems in the solution space. Proposed architecture also enhances creation as well as dissemination of re-usable assets and their alignment with open industry standards available in this solution space.
VIKING architecture will provide the foundation for building the envisaged functionality in ING Internet based application systems through the set of components. Components identification, definition and description including their responsibilities, interfaces(s), required service levels, relationships and collaborations to be maintained in the Framework. An n-layered/tiered architecture approach has been adopted to realize the architecture solution for VIKING program.

Project Abstract

Component Testbed and sPod provide automated testing and test data record/ playback environment for Component services. While Testbed is used for automated testing and provides a regression test environment for Component, sPod is used for recording/ playback of data between the application component layer and the middleware layer.
Client has decided to extend the functionality of these two existing tools to fulfil the new requirements as a common testing framework which provides flexibility in terms of environment, middleware and record/ playback mechanism to be used thus catering to a wider base of services to be tested. This common test framework/tool would be known as the Service Testbed, which will be used across all common platform applications for Java, based Services and it will enable the user to test the component as well as the Services as single tests.

Project Abstract

Scope of work is mix of Reengineering & fresh development of current system BPS (Best Partners Systems) focused on Mutual Funds. The proposed system is called New Funds Systems (NFS) Retaining the functionality, with new functionalities specified by the client & keeping in mind improvement on performance, scalability etc., system need to be reengineered & some modules need to be freshly developed on 3-tier architecture (with MVC & Strut, J2EE Framework). Current system consists of Core (Online & Batch processes which is 80% of the system) & non-core modules (Mix of Online & Batch processes (Optional) which is 20 % of the system). Out of 4.5 million lines of codes, 0.3 millions of LOC are in current scope of work. Current system is on IBM RS 360, COBOL, and VSAM/QSAM with DB2 Database. Client has already developed front end JSP Pages that need to be tested. The proposed OS for Online is AIX & for Batch it is Solaris. Complete interoperability between existing Mainframe & AIX system is not desired/expected. Certain data transmission from AIX to Mainframe in XML/HULFT (flat) format is desired. IAP will be using currently JSP screens by client & using test Drivers to test online processes with test data that would be provided by the client. IAP will create physical database object with DB2 script provided by client. The object will be same as with DB2. The client will do data migration. Current system has 6 on-line processes, 7 Batch Processes & 4 Optional Processes. 2 of Online & 6 of Batch processes modules are in current scope of work. Functionality: The application based on Command Framework called APBFW (Application Based FrameWork). APBFW structure is based on client server type architecture. Client application use a component called application launcher to call server application. Moreover, server application is developed centering on a component called a command processor and a command. Client Side: Client application consists of aapplication launcher exclusively within client application and is used these client programs to call server program. A client starts server application using an application launcher as stated above. In order to distinct the operating application which starts in that case, specifies Application ID (operating application identifier) Server Side: Server application is the collection of operating application corresponds to each operating process. Usually, operating application is constituted by the combination of one or more operating logic. In APBFW, one operating logic is expressed in the form of a command, and separation of the processing and a flow in operating application is performed the processing flow defining by XML. And the command processor, which exists exclusively in server application, unifies this processing and flow that were separated, and play a role, which performs control for functioning as 1 operating application. In addition, XML (operating application is defined), which defines a processing flow, is the following four kinds also including an auxiliary thing. Command common input definition XML

  • Command definition XML
  • Application common definition XML
  • Application definition XML

Command Processor controls Process flow on server side. According to the definition XML corresponding to the specified application ID, a command is executed one by one. At that time, Input parameter to a command is created from the application input parameter (and output of the command to proceed), which received by per operating application. Moreover, in order to have to return an output parameter per operating application to the client, an application output parameter is created from output parameter of each command. After the launching of command file it undergoing different input checks which are single item check, combination check and logical check( if some check doesn't clear then message code is generated for particular message). It find the particular java classes as per the request from application to perform operation for the day time operation of Online purchase, sell, cashing and cancellation of the mutual fund. And in the Batch process, which is done in night after the fiducial price, is declared at 7 PM the whole daytime operations.
