Confidential MIS Regional Manager, Northeast Region (2009-2011), New York, NY Charged with performing all IT helpdesk and operations for the northeast region with six direct reports and an external hardware company. Provided technology support for 1,500 employees ranging from sales associates to Senior Vice President across nine geographically disperse sites. Managed a $2.4M IT budget, as well as a $1.4M discretionary budget.   • Streamlined the sales process by securing approval for sales to use iPads, MacBooks, and various other Apple products in order for remote sales confirmation. Efforts included creating a detailed project and development of a $1.5M project budget. Project has already yielded a 12% increase of sales across local stations and 7% on a national level.
  • Directed the transition to multiple new floors, which was occupied by direct reports to the CEO. Project included managing a $540K initial build cost budget, creating all IT logistics prior to the move, and implementing Cisco VoIP.
  • Redesigned internal, external and DMZ Firewall policies to ensure new sales initiates were given proper priority and support throughout the sales organization by reprioritizing rules to ensure inspection occurred without loss of service or connection to certain sales applications.

Charged with providing maintenance and support of VPN networks and devices, while monitoring external links as well as more than 50 Nokia appliances running checkpoint firewall. Managed and coordinated modification for firewall and VPN rule sets, which included the studying of network traffic flows to reverse engineer required rules for application lockdown and resolving firewall issues in an enterprise environment. Managed tier 3 support techs, while providing on-going enterprise support for over 50 external facing geographically disperse firewalls, including VPN access and Nokia Voyager access. Established the Scope of Work and Bill of Materials for all LAN and firewall projects, ensuring the equipment and configuration met SLA objects and overall user requirements.   • Introduced VPN-1 technology on all 54 existing firewalls as a backup to our internal WAN, including 6 new IP 1200 series firewalls at HUB sites to handle additional loads by introducing a VRRP HA Cluster with the use of Cisco and Nokia Appliances.
  • Spearheaded the design and implementation of the Main Corporate Data Center, which contained all financial, and sales applications as well as over 120 physical servers, 60ESX deployment hosting 120 virtual servers, and 9,600 Physical data ports. Utilizing Cisco catalyst switches, Cisco 7200 series routers, Riverbed appliances and Nokia firewall running Checkpoint. Project was completed ahead of schedule and 15% under budget.
  • Established a new campus design between four buildings located within a two-mile radius, which required a dark fiber connection between building to enable faster replication and on-air broadcasting transport.
  • Introduced Firemon appliance to perform clean up and policy analysis on all checkpoint rule sets. Initiative yielded a cost savings on our operational budget by reducing memory and processor usage by 60% on our checkpoint appliances and extended the life of the investment.
