Results:Successful application migration to new servers in strategic data centers enabling decommission of servers in non-strategic data center.
Environment: NFS cluster hosting home directories of hundreds of critical trading production support teams and users.
Challenges:Zero-downtime requirement and bi-directional replicated hot-hot storage eliminating fork-lift option. Out-dated Solaris cluster making it difficult to find matching seed equipment and not enough time to migrate to Linux.
Role:Worked with decommission factory and design build teams to locate SUN V240s and build matching seed cluster on an aggressive schedule.
