IMR Data mart is a centralized warehouse for the client and due to performance constraints the customer wants to migrate from existing RDBMS to a High-end database management system NETEZZA, an enterprise data warehouse appliance which delivers high performance data analysis. The goal of the project is to migrate ETL from SQL Server to Netezza DW (SQL based database). Sets of SQL/stored procedures that are needed to be translated/possibly re-written in netezza SQL are handed off from the Client. The tasks were substituting existing SQL server functions for the appropriate netezza function and looking for alternate solutions for procedures with cursors (as netezza has no concept of cursors). These scripts were then incorporated into korn shell scripts in order to run in a batch mode.
