  • Consultant modifying RPG code to conform with year 2000 requirements and hired on as an employee in February 2001 as a Senior Developer.
  • My primary duties were customizing MAPICS RPG applications to fit the unique requirements of the Company and to write RPG application interface programs to interact with a SYBASE database. The code included RPG III, RPG/LE with embedded SQL, and RPG Free. I also wrote and modified CL procedures with some containing embedded SQL procedures.
  • Wrote many EXCEL reports. VB Macro code was used to extract data from multiple Databases (DB2400, SQL Server, ORACLE etc.).
  • Performed second and third level help desk problem resolution supporting applications that utilize multiple databases and the MAPICS ERP Application. (AS/400 DB2-400, SYBASE, ORACLE, SQL- SERVER) Maximo help desk software was utilized for work order reporting. Applications followed SDLC guidelines.
  • Wrote an RPG application to transfer local MAPICS G/L, A/P and A/R data to and from the corporate headquarters for month end processing. The application required a Chart of Accounts translation for data being transferred both ways.
  • Designed, wrote, and implemented an RPG automated application for near real time entry of parts into MAPICS inventory. These parts are cut with a Trumph CO2 Laser utilizing PEP nesting software.
  • Member of a team that installed Laser etching equipment to create 2D Data Matrix barcodes for marking inventory parts. This effort was implemented for conforming with DOD reporting requirements to submit serialized parts data to the DOD UID registry.
  • Designed and implemented in RPG, an inventory tracking application that feeds a MAPICS ERP. This application utilizes barcode labels and wireless handheld devices to track material from the receiving dock to being placed on the end product. This application ran on the AS/400 APACHE Web Server.

When this company merged with another company I was part of the conversion team to plan and implement the combined processing of both companies financial applications on the AS/400.
  • Write custom programs for the Cardinal Banking Database, modifying the applications to fit the unique processing requirements of a multi-division banking institution. Turnover change management is used to control program integrity. SEQUEL is used for file query, OPENDB is used to generate reports, and RPG/400 is the primary programming language.

  • Code and process interface programs using data generated by Lawson Inventory to update Mesa Manufacturing Inventory synchronizing data in both applications. The Mesa files were accessed using an API interface. Other duties included conversion of data from existing mainframe applications to feed the Lawson and Mesa files and coding reports to replace comparable reports previously generated on the mainframe.
  • Write interactive and batch programs for an Association Membership Database. Design and write an interactive Label Generator using program generated Sequel Kernel commands for database extraction. Maintaining existing applications was my responsibility along with developing new applications. Responsible for writing new membership modules for the new Database. Programmer Plus is used to create skeleton interactive programs for new development. Custom financial reports were extracted utilizing JD Edwards financial data.
  • Convert 370 beverage distribution, inventory, file maintenance, and report programs to native RPG400 code. Enhance existing AS/400 distribution software to conform to current processing needs. Install and utilize PC file transfer programs for various processing applications.
  • Write programs for a software supplier of Telephone Company Systems. Applications are Billing, Toll Call Rating, and Line Card Maintenance.
  • On Line Order Processing - Designed and wrote programs to process rail and truck orders utilizing barcode readers and scale readers as entry devices. Picking Tickets and Bills of Lading were produced for processing outbound orders. A System 36 served as an on-site front end processor for 4381 and 3090 mainframe computers. The programs were written in COBOL and RPG languages.
