PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Confidential
Sr. SOA Architect / System Integration Architect Consultant
- Working remotely from local Northern Virginia office.
- Designed integration patterns for Integration Bus that integrates all services consumed across bank using the Service Search engine, CIR, which is the Central Service Registry/Repository for the Bank.
- The CIR is built on IBM's Websphere Registry Repository Server WSSR and have Web Layer component. CIR uses a separate product, Web Layers, to integrate with WSSR to perform design-time policy enforcement.
- As a Lead Integration Architect, identified the services based on Business Requirements and educate business teams on how to Re-use Existing Services and Created New Services as needed based on bank's enterprise architecture Policy and Strategy.
- Guided and mentored the Consumer and the Provider teams on Business Services and their integration Routing, Authentication, Authorization, SLA, Payload, Throughputs, etc. thru Integration Bus Enterprise Service Bus .
- Designed IFW models to Map the Service Interfaces based on IFW models. Guided consumer and provider teams in interface mappings for services based on IFW model. Performed the Mapping Changes in interfaces based on IFW models and also Converted Legacy Services to IFW compliant services .
- Working as a SOA Service Architect supporting Seven Ecommerce applications simultaneously, in Middleware Hub EIB Enterprise Integration Bus using Bank's IFW SOA Information Framework model.
Responsibilities included:
- Identifying Business Services whether New or Existing from modified Business Use Cases which derived from the changed or new requirements
- Mapping those Business Services to the IFW Use Cases that already exists and registered in CIR Central Service Registry/Repository for Bank
- Identifying 1 Service Consumer, 2 Middleware Segments and 3 Backend Service Providers
- Finding Existing Candidate Services for the Modified Requirement
- Figuring out Best Services that is available in CIR, Central Service Registry / Repository from Provider that will satisfy consumer applications functional need for maximum Re-Use
- Figuring out Classification of these Services. Whether they are Core, Legacy Core, Special Use, Emerging New or Declining Services
- Once the Existing Service and the Operation identified for Re-Use, then requested SOA Exception from SOA Governance Domain Architect team in order to modify existing Service/Operation.
- Then Created New Service Contract for new Service Consumer in order to consume that Service/Operation from the existing Service Provider and Register this new contract in CIR Bank's Central Service Registry / Repository .
- Once all the Services are identified, and then had to figured out the NFR Non-Functional Requirement Service Volume, Response Time, Maximum Threshold, Transaction per Second for each of these Services from current months production environment using the Volume Master tool.
- Once I obtained all these information, and then I had to figure out which middleware gateway segment would be the best for this Service Request to go thru. For example: a high volume Service request will go thru a particular ESB segment that can handle HIGH VOLUME Service request effectively with-in the Consumer's acceptable Response demand Requirement .
- We have one Single Middleware Hub which has Multiple Segments that serves as a single point of entry to the gateway to enter the system. It has to meet the Security standards like: Authentication, Authorization and Auditing. Then the request will have a Single Sign On SSO Token to access Service from the provider. I had to design the Routing to meet this requirement as well.
- When the Service Exception was needed in order to modify the existing Service and Operation, I had to guide and accommodate the application team to go thru Service Exception process according to Bank's SOA Governance Policy.
- My Role is for each project from beginning to end makes sure each existing Service is being properly utilized to its maximum capability and follows Bank's Governance SOA Policy.
