Senior SQL Server Database Developer

Worked in the finance org of CA and created reports and managed reporting leveraging MS SQL, MS Access VBA and Microsoft .Net Technologies. FDM Auto kill VB.NET windows application. This application was created to monitor for hung FDM processes. Once detected it would email the Hyperion team and allow for reply to actions. Such as Kill the process, cease monitor, or retrieve application status.

Multi-upload for Hyperion Planning MS Excel VBA code used to upload up to 12 periods of data to Hyperion Planning. Was used for Forecast Budget data. Used many data validations and complex logic. Logic was used to automatically determine period s to load, validate accounts existed in Planning, lock loads based on user security. Validated data needed based on load type Forecast or Budget. FDM Scripting was used to automatically load any file the user outputted by the application. A SQL server backend database was architected to store all user activity data, errors, user security, maps for logic, and version control enforced user to always use latest version of tool .

FDM to Hyperion Planning/HFM Excel File Loader MS Excel VBA code use to load various user data to Hyperion Planning/HFM. Used same complex logic for determining periods, user security, and data validation as the Multi-upload tool noted above . FDM scripting was used as well for auto-upload to Hyperion Planning/HFM. A SQL server backend database was architected to store all user activity data, errors, user security, maps for logic, and version control enforced user to always use latest version of tool .

MP/NMP Revenue for Hyperion Planning MS Access VBA code used to import the latest FDM export for each Planning country for current reporting period. It would split the revenue based on a SQL Server allocation table percentages maintained by corp FP A team into License, Maintenance, Subscription. FDM scripting was used to import into Planning statistical cube.

Segment Reporting KPMG SQL Stored procedure, SQL views SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS, ETL process was used for splitting reconciling SAP Feeds by revenue type. It compared two SAP feeds to do YOY/QTQ analysis and broke it by many different calculations/percentages. Purpose was to report any concerns to KPMG/ Internal auditors. This application was in scope with SOX compliance.

GAAP DB Upload ETL tool - MS Access VBA code used to automate 450 local MS Access db's upload to SQL Server DB for legacy contracts. Logic implemented to only replace what is coming in. Also many data validations along with use of a handful of SQL stored procedures SSIS packages. This application was in scope with SOX compliance.

GAAP DB Management application - ASP.NET / VB code for managing legacy contracts. Add/update/Delete, SSRS reports etc. Complex logic for unique legacy contract validation for all phases of user changes. This application was in scope with SOX compliance.

GAAP Checklist ASP.NET / VB code for managing local statutory reporting for many international countries/regions. Complex logic to ensure webforms are populated correctly. Implemented automatic check reports to auto flag follow-up needs. Output to Excel, etc. Also uses a few SSRS reports.

Headcount Reporting ASP.NET / C code used for tracking and reporting Headcount for the finance org. Application was split into two parts due to time constraints. I built the ETL routine and designed the backend database using SQL Server and my colleague made the website. After his departure I upgraded the framework to 4.5, fixed some errors to reduce processing time, and also added new functionality as the business needs changed.

FX Rates checker - MS Access VBA code used to automate validation of FX rates for the Finance Org.

Revenue Recognition Database MS Access VBA code used to split revenue from the legacy contract db and load to SAP.

Expense Track Audit application MS Access VBA code used to track monitor employee expenses. An ETL process would load data from SAP weekly. The application served as a customer service type application to flag employees, T E rep to add notes, email employees, and reports on issues. This application became the most heavily used application in the T E group. I later architected a SQL database backend as the business needs changed.

Royalties' data migration ETL tool MS Access VBA code used to manage monthly downloads from SAP and other sources. An ETL process was used to upload all data from different sources to one centralized SQL Server backend which was designed for these different sources. Used to organize all the team's data and report from it.

Intercompany forecasting - .NET / VB code used to provide forecast data to international finance controllers. It was used to provide expectations back to corporate finance team. Add, edit, delete, note, SSRS Reports, SQL Triggers, Stored Procedures, Excel output, etc.
