Repair ten to twelve appliances a day wif a variety of problems.
Capable of making decisions under pressure and in stressful situations.
Have performed over twenty total rebuilds.
Technical knowledge to re-wire motors and repair main PCB boards.
Typical tasks includes running diagnostic, translating error codes, reading wiring schematics, rewiring, using a computer to look up technical specifications and ordering parts.
Rebuild appliances or installing by ordered replacement parts including basket and tub, wire harnesses, motor control board, door switch and shock absorbers and rebuilding teh entire unit by hand.
Daily problems include broken wiring, faulty control boards, faulty sensors or timers, transmission failures, replace bearing, making adjustments and re-positioning of components.
Teaching a new hire how to install electronic boards and explain teh purpose of teh different components of teh machine. Teaching him to listen to teh customer explanations of teh problem and then to listen to teh noises and vibrations, made by teh machine, to guide teh investigation. This is a 6 week apprenticeship wif teh new hire for diagnosis and repair.
