The rules for different LOBs were defined in the database by each LOB id.
- When the files will be uploaded by Genio it will call the component and pass the LOB id and batch id. Reading the LOB id and batch id the component will pull up the data for the batch and the rules for the LOB and process the data.
- The error out records was stored in the error tables for the Cognos Report to pull and display. For the issue of huge amount of data, that is for the location data per batch. A limit was set where in for a particular batch if the location data exceeds more than 5000, then the batch would be divided in sub batches of 5000 each and processed.
- User Authentication and Authorization for Cognos - As per the project requirement the user authentication needs to be done with the Java and the authorization should happen in Cognos Reporting.
- The user creation module was built in java wherein along with the user data the region-country-office allocated to the users was handled in java and stored in the database. From the Login screen the userid and password is captured and authenticated against the ldap.
- After authentication the user is directed to the home page, with Report Names in the menu. When the user clicks on a Report, the userid is passed to Cognos. Cognos read the userid and then goes to the database to pull up the region-country-office allocated to the user.
