Short-term assignment to help out with a variety of claims and premium-oriented applications to accomplish the transformation and conversion of data from a recently acquired property and casualty insurance company. Required the creation and maintenance of MS Excel spreadsheets to track and document the data field by field, and the programming of interfaces between existing Nationwide systems and those currently being used by the acquired company. Created CSV files from various different input formats. Some of the work was done using the Agile methodology, but most of it in the traditional waterfall manner. Worked on a project to replace portions of their legacy Medicaid eligibility applications with Accenture's ELIAS, and making changes to the systems to accommodate the Affordable Care Act . Required the creation of interfaces to existing mainframe systems with a new server-based system. Some of the work involved the use of Agile methodology, with most of it done the traditional waterfall way. Work included programming in COBOL, building JCL and control cards, and working with a scheduler. The two primary DHS environments are a Legacy Cobol/CICS/VSAM systems and a client server/Web systems.
