This involved all aspects of the SDLC, including writing a low-level serial driver for communication with a proprietary piece of equipment called the Aurion Display Unit. The serial communication software was part of a downloadable web component Active/X control , which is used to communicate with a Display Unit via the web pages and for the transmission of data back across the Internet using MS SOAP 3.0. This required working with a third-party vendor from Finland who developed the software for and manufactured the Display Unit.
