SUMMARY:
- A Senior WebSphere Commerce Developer is responsible and accountable for the quality and coding of software components that make up complex systems serving its members and suppliers.
- This includes both hands - on development and testing of systems using Java language, messaging queues, web services, WebSphere Commerce components, and other frameworks.
- This WebSphere Commerce role requires a deep experience in WebSphere Commerce and software development, a wide range of mid-tier and back end systems, and database knowledge. WebSphere Commerce Developers will work independently and under the direction of more senior IT architects and team leads while contributing to multi-layered solution architectures that comprehend and specify business, application, data and infrastructure designs.
- This person may also be called upon to lead a team of more junior developers.
- A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated software development experience
- Expert knowledge of WebSphere Commerce design, workflow, techniques and best practices.
- Experience packaging and deploying Java applications using WebSphere Application Server.
- Strong understanding of the WCS run-time framework, WCS EJB, and Web Services.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge in one IDE (ie. Eclipse)
- Demonstrated expert knowledge in Java and at least one Java framework (ie. Spring)
- Experience in application architecture, design, development, testing, implementation and documentation of web based applications using Java.
- Experience in J2EE architecture and development including Servlets, EJBs, JMS, and JSP, web services, XML processing tools, JavaScript and HTML.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge in an enterprise-class RDBMS and SQL
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge in MVC framework pattern and other Design Patterns
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge in building, debugging and maintaining mission critical enterprise applications.
- Experience in a wide range of development activities encompassing requirements analysis, design specification, translating business requirements, requirements-driven test cases, and enterprise-level software deployment and installation.

- Completed at least five full professional software engineering projects across multiple platforms
- Have core Java expertise (JDK 1.5+)
- JEE expertise, including JSP/Servlet, JDBC and JMS

- Proficiency with computer networking and Unix fundamentals
- Understanding of UML diagrams
